Shifting Strategies: Achieving a balanced approach to regional sales with the goal of establishing an overwhelming share of the global market

We will improve our North America-dependent market strategies with the goal of creating a more balanced approach to regional sales. To attain this goal, we will emphasize expansion of our markets in Europe and Japan and will continue to develop emerging markets.

North America

North America, the world’s largest market, is naturally Funai’s most critical region. FUNAI CORPORATION, INC., our sales subsidiary, has established close relationships with a number of mass merchandisers and has captured an overwhelming share of the market. In 2008, we established P&F USA, Inc. as our sales subsidiary for the Philips brand. We will
continue to strengthen our marketing and product planning capabilities and are striving to gain new customers.

Europe

The vast European market ranks with the North American market and is the first priority in our effort to open new markets. FUNAI EUROPE GmbH, our sales subsidiary based in Hamburg, Germany, has branches in Paris and Warsaw, and is building relationships with leading mass merchandisers in all countries in the region. In addition, we are striving to enhance our competitiveness by launching local production with the operation of our Poland Plant.

Japan

Through DX ANTENNA CO., LTD., a member of the Funai Group, we sell a variety of receiving equipment and DX BROADTEC brand audiovisual equipment. We will continue to focus on developing new sales channels.

Asia and Other Markets

We have maintained our regular sales in Asia, the region that serves as our production base, and other regions; however, in Russia and other emerging markets, we intend to open new markets mainly for CRT TVs, LCD TVs and DVD-related products and will strive to underpin and increase our competitiveness.
