
2006 FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLDŽ Resort
Funai signed a title-sponsor agreement with the PGA TOUR and the WALT DISNEY WORLDŽ Resort from October 2003 to support the tournament; the FUNAI Classic at the WALT DISNEY WORLDŽ Resort. The 2006 tournament was held at Disney's Magnolia & Palm Golf Courses at the WALT DISNEY WORLDŽ Resort in Orlando, Florida, USA from Thursday, October 19 to Sunday, October 22, 2006.
It was last year's winner Lucus Glover who aimed at successive victories in his participation. Moreover, veteran players such as Vijay Singh, Stuart Appleby, and Davis Love III also participated in the event. Shigeki Maruyama, Ryuji Imada, Daisuke Maruyama, and Hidemichi Tanaka were active Japanese Players by the PGA TOUR. There was also a spot participation by Yano Azuma, the star candidate player who received his first victory in last year's Japanese tour.
Justin Rose scored 60 par in the first day of the rally. The tournament was played at a very high level.
The result of the rally marked 65 with seven under by Joe Durant who started in 2nd place with 18 under on the final round, and marked his fourth victory after an interval of five years.

During the tournament, Funai Electric Co.,Ltd. actively lent its support to tournament operations by setting up 42-inch plasma display panels and 20-inch liquid crystal display televisions in various locations over the courses, while presenting a 37-inch liquid crystal display television to the tournament winner Joe Durant as a champion prize.
With the support of Disney, Funai later donated the plasma display panels and liquid crystal display televisions used at the tournament to local volunteers, making an active contribution to the development of local community.
Funai aims to raise awareness of its brand in the United States through this golf tournament, while contributing a portion of its revenues to the development of the local community.
